Parma Conference - 2015
From June 29 to July 2, 2015, a conference was held in Parma, Italy on the topic of
The Common Good: The Role of Integrity in the Support of Life and Human Security.
Registration Fee : 200 €.
Students : 100 €
payable in cash upon arrival
Dear Integrity Friends,
Once again it is time to start thinking about the 2015 meeting. It will take place at the University of Parma, Italy, and those of you who were in Rhodes will remember Antonio D'Aloia who will be our host. Thank you in advance Antonio, for this chance to return to Italy once again.
Our dates are slightly different next year, in order to accommodate previous commitments of Ron Engel, Colin Soskolne and Klaus Bosselmann: we will meet from June 29 to July 2, 2015 and, in case the program might be too dense, we might have to run over into the 3rd as well, although our host prefers to avoid that possibility.
Unfortunately this time I cannot offer you a beach location, but Rimini and other resorts on the Adriatic sea are nearby, as are of course Milano and other Italian cities. I am definitely planning to arrange at least a day at the sea after the meeting, as Parma will be very hot at that time of the year.
You will recall that we voted to have one session at the Milan Expo, hence you will see a strong emphasis on food, water, sustainability issues and the common good, in the suggested topics. In addition, papers on refugee and migration issues will be very welcome, as that will also be my chosen topic, given my forthcoming book, Toward a Refugee Oriented Right of Asylum, Ashgate; 2015, L.Westra, S. Juss and T. Scovazzi eds. (flyer to come)
Please also note Richard Westra's important new book, listed below. Information regarding hotels, our yearly reception/dinner, and the like will follow.
I look forward to seeing you all in Parma!
